Anti-bullying Week 2016:
This week we have been very busy looking at the focus of 'Power for Good'. The children experienced a thought provoking workshop with Mr Steve Halliday with a primary focus on e-safety. The workshops encouraged the children to use poetry as a means of communicating the message. The children also worked very hard during the week to make items to promote this message.

Our celebration assembly was an opportunity to share what we had been achieving in class throughout the week. Year 5 and 6 wrote poignant acrostic poems using the slogan 'Power for Good' demonstrating their feelings against bullying. Years 3 and 4 made sashes decorated with the theme, Years 1, 2 and Reception made colourful headbands. Nursery also made blue handprints as well as every child in the school. These handprints included personal word choices that reflect anti-bullying. We have made a 'Tree of Kindness' display in the computer hall.

Quotes from 2 Year 6 children stated:

‘I think that anti-bullying week was helpful because I now know what to do if I see bullying and what different kinds of bullying are’

‘Bullying week was fun and exciting, it made me learn more about bullying and made me feel happier and safe. I think that it helped all of us in the school’
